Harley is a self proclaimed redneck. He’s located in Erick, OK and is pretty much the main attraction of the town. Harley invited us into his… well, I don’t know what you would call it… establishment (?), served us some beer, came onto us a little, played a stirring rendition of “Get Your Kicks on Route 66” and then talked with us about how he appreciates the work of the men and women of the military. All in all it was an interesting day.

R.I.P. Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of Where the Wild Things Are, who died today at age 83.
Sendak on death: “I have nothing now but praise for my life. I’m not unhappy. I cry a lot because I miss people. They die and I can’t stop them. They leave me and I love them more. … What I dread is the isolation. … There are so many beautiful things in the world which I will have to leave when I die, but I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready.”
